STILL NOT CONVINCED!!! If you are worried about interest rates rising in the near future ... how about the ability to "bump up" your rate if interest rates rise. On new share certificate taken out with the Credit Union, we will offer a 1 time step up on a three year certificate, and two steps on a five year certificate. When requested in writing by our member, we will step your certificate of deposit interest rate to our then offered cd rate. Your new CD interest rate will be our rate offered on certificate of deposits closest to the remaining term of the stepped cd. (i.e. A five year term certificate of deposit, with 3 years remaining until maturity can be stepped up to the three year rate offered at time of step request.)
